A Word About Us

The Beginning

A Place to Heal Ministries, Inc. (APTHM), grew out of a ministry that began in 1996 under the direction of the Founder and Senior Pastor, The Reverend Dr. Lynda Marie Jordan. The church was established on December 5, 2010, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

The major goal of APTHM is to demonstrate and express God's unconditional love toward everyone. Our ministry provides a sacred, safe space, where people can address their individual spiritual, physical and emotional requirements for wholeness.

The ministry began when Dr. Jordan responded to student's request for assistance with their personal, academic & spiritual life issues. She ministered to students, at various locations, from around the country. Her offerings of gender-specific support to women, from all walks of life, ignited the growth of this ministry. Today, APTHM offers support to those who are looking for a place to worship & fellowship or visit periodically. Everyone is welcome. Join us for worship, prayer and praise.

About Our Pastor

Pastor Jordan's professional and personal life experiences equip her with the knowledge, compassion, fortitude, and faith to support the spirituality and health of others. She received her B.S. degree in Chemistry, from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University (NCATSU); her M.S. degree in Chemistry, from Atlanta University; and her Ph.D. degree in Biological Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She spent two years as a Postdoctoral Fellow at The Institute Pasteur in Paris, France, before returning to NCATSU as a Chemistry Professor. While on sabbatical, she answered the call of ministry, and earned both the Master of Divinity (M.Div.), and the Master of Public Health (MPH) degrees from Harvard University. Dr. Jordan is an ordained Elder in the United Holy Church of America, Inc.
